GI Pipe Nipples for Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) Projects: A Buyer's Checklist

GI pipe stock at Atul Pipe Industries

The Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM), also known as Har Ghar Jal, aims to bring tap water to every rural household. Each connection needs many small GI parts, and GI Pipe Nipples are among the most used. For a contractor, running short of them can hold up an entire site.

Here is a simple checklist for buying GI nipples for JJM work.

1. Confirm the sizes in your drawings

List every size your project needs, from ½” upwards, and the length of each. Sizes are standard pipe sizes. Lengths can be standard or custom.

2. Check the threads

Ask for BSP threads on both ends, so the nipples fit the fittings used on site without leaks or rework.

3. Ask about the standard

Look for nipples made as per IS 1239, the Indian Standard for steel tubes and fittings.

4. Plan quantity and dispatch together

JJM work runs in phases. Share your full quantity and your schedule with the supplier at the start, so stock is ready when each phase begins.

5. Choose a supplier with capacity and ready stock

A supplier with steady capacity and ready stock can keep up when your sites move fast.
